Our African Buffalo
After spending many years in East Africa searching for the best Boran cattle, Terry McLintock developed a great love for Buffalo and dreamed of establishing an East African disease free herd on Keta.
Terry’s breeding philosophy is that the best and strongest bulls will breed and only cows with good milk production will be able to raise their calves. This has resulted in a very strong gene pool of impressively large bodied, strong bulls and highly productive cows that have adapted to the Waterberg bushveld.
In addition, all bulls and cows with below average horns are removed to an ajoining Game Ranch for hunting purposes. This has ensured that only the best genetics remain on Keta. Today the herd stands at roughly 300 strong and range freely on 5000 hectares.
